How to reduce the supply chain costs: methods and practice
May 12, 2010
Kozatskyi Stan Hotel and Restaurant Complex, 18km, Boryspol highway, Kyiv, Ukraine
How can the supply chain be utilized to cut costs and create value without resorting to lowering supplier rates? How can your company steer its way out of recession and be more competitive in the modern economy? What role does the supply chain play in the company’s wider financial model? Such prominent topics have been discussed by leaders in the industry around the world and are now coming to Kiev.
The Financial Aspects of the Supply Chain forum aims to give companies a real insight on the role the supply chain plays to reduce costs in the wider company business model. It focuses on how you can reduce costs and create value without resorting to lowering supplier rates. This involves moving the discussion beyond rate card discounts to inventory and network optimization. To methods in how through greater internal collaboration between finance and logistics departments, cash flow and working capital improvements can be realized. And in how greater collaboration with partners within your supply chain will result in lower total supply chain costs.
A number of industry experts from leading international companies will give their perspectives on a range of innovative concepts, which can be used to reduce costs related to inventory optimization, increase visibility and collaboration within the supply chain, reduce the cash-to-cash order cycle, optimize transportation flows and freight auditing and payment services.

| 07 december 2011 The President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovich, vetoed the Law ‘On Sea Ports of Ukraine’ adopted by the Verkhovna Rada and sent the bill back to the parliament with his propositions.
The President notes that the legal collision will appear in case of signing the law as the provisions of the document on the port water basin will contradict the provisions of the Water Code of Ukraine. In particular, the draft provides that the water basin of a sea port is defined as a part of the water object outside the navigation pass to be granted to the port under the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers. But a separate decision on allotment of the water fund land is not taken.
